Copro Gallery presents artist Timothy Robert Smith solo art exhibition 'Multi-Dimensionalism'

Multi-Dimensionalism :
Reality is an amalgamation of collective experiences, patterns, and ideas. My work is an attempt to understand how our own, personal worlds fit into the ever-changing, agreed-upon picture of the universe. Do our minds create the world around us; and what, if anything, is real? How much information is misinterpreted, or hidden between the cracks of (what we think is) time and space? In these paintings, the viewer lives in a place where all possible perceptions exist. Angles move and intersect as perspective shifts. We are looking up, down and all around at the same time (or maybe without time), seeing as the floor sees, and as the ceiling sees, as the ground sweeps beneath our feet. Branching timelines show alternate versions of the same person, repeating into an infinite feedback loop in a quantum multiverse.

Timothy Robert Smith is a Los Angeles based oil painter and muralist, using observational techniques to portray a multi-dimensional perspective of the universe. After receiving his MFA degree from Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) in 2013, he has created a plethora of work for galleries, museums and written publications, He also teaches art at LCAD and CSU Los Angeles.
