Copro Gallery presents 2 groups exhibition running in conjunction with each other. Curated by artist Chet Zar, ‘THE DARK ART SOCIETY Part Two ' & Curated by Cris Velasco 'ROADSIDE ATTRACTIONS lV' . Many of the artists participating have been interviewed on the 'Dark Art Society Podcast' and they all represent the best of a growing, cutting edge art movement: Dark Art. Led by Chet Zar, the Dark Art Society’s mission is to provide valuable information to artists, collectors and the general public, with a focus on the many benefits of Dark Art in our modern world. By sharing talents, perspectives, ideas and resources, the goal is to raise the overall awareness of Dark Art in contemporary culture, while simultaneously empowering, inspiring and equipping artists to express themselves.

CRIS VELASCO is one of the largest collectors of Dark Art is Los Angeles. He is also a multiple award-winning composer of music for video games, film and television. Cris has become one of the most sought after composers in interactive entertainment, scoring many major titles including Resident Evil 7, Bloodborne, The Invisible Hours, The Long Dark, Company of Heroes 2, Mass Effect 2-3, Borderlands 1-2, Warhammer: Space Marine, God of War 1-3, Tron: Evolution, Darksiders, Clive Barker's Jericho, and many more. He also currently has two tv shows, Dimension 404 and Freakish, airing on Hulu and HBO. Cris Velasco's orchestral music is performed in concerts worldwide and has received numerous accolades including "Best Original Score" from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, "Best Original Music" nomination from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, NBC News' "Best Video Game Music of 2012", GameTrailers' "Best Soundtrack of the Year" and IGN's "People's Choice Award - Best Overall Music".

CHET ZAR is an American artist notable for his dark visual fine art. His canvassed works are generally oil-based portraits and he considers his paintings to be extensions of his doodles. He describes the figures in his art as "very ugly and freakish on the surface" while still retaining "innocence about them". In addition to his fine art he is involved and has worked in the music and movie industry doing everything from creating digital animations for the band Tool's live shows to creating charcters for Guillermo del Toro films. Zar's works vary according to the medium he is using. His interest in art and horror movies led to a career in the motion-picture industry. His contributions to the industry were in the form of sculpture and make-up effects. Zar designed and created prosthetic effects for such movies as The Ring, Planet of the Apes, and Darkman.

DARK ART SOCIETY PODCAST is a weekly podcast hosted by Chet Zar. He interviews some of today’s most important artists and discusses a wide range of topics relevant to humans of all types, the main thrust being to spread the “Good News” about the Dark Art movement.
