Copro Gallery presents Luke Hillestad’s “LORE.” Luke is a classical painter from the Midwest. His newest series hosts a cast of ancient characters, each with a narrative to offer our present chaos. Lore is the evolving ethos of our ancestors; echoes from the underworld. Says Luke about the exhibit, "The lore of a culture encodes the tools humans have used to overcome their worst fears. Picture a stag at the edge of the forest. The clearing is a portal to the darkest depths of your dread. Before you feel ready to meet your fear, that stag will turn and run ahead of you. Stay where you are or chase it through the unknown into your greater potential. Follow the stag and life is always an epic". As a brand new father Luke is focused on the wonder of hearing an old story for the first time.
